Abstract
[This paper employs rhetorical and intertextual analysis to address the message of hope and restoration contained in the last verses of Zephaniah. It emphasizes the universality and comprehensiveness of the promise and the focus on the joy that contrasts with the somber tone in the opening verses of this book. Eventually, the announcement of reversal of the created order that opens the book gives way to the creation of a new world and a humanized society formed by a humble and poor remnant, having Yahweh as the center and source of life]
