Abstract
The paper explores contemporary Indonesian politics which previously was believed giving more sphere for pluralism ideas, different from the situation in the present days. The dream to be a plural and multicultural nation faces many challenges, including by the numbers of religious based violences. Here, Islam as the majority religion group in Indonesia should play as the important player in order to maintain the dream of a plural nation as initiated by our founding fathers.
