Abstract
"Sob a óptica específica de seu autor, a presente contribuição busca fazer um apanhado de diversos temas que ao longo de décadas foram, em maior ou menor grau, foco do interesse do homenageado, professor emérito Dr. Zwinglio Mota Dias. Tais temas são tratados em perspectiva mais histórica do que sistemática, e a partir da escolha relativamente arbitrária de tópicos quer comuns ao protestantismo em geral, quer mais específicos da tradição reformada. Sobressai, no todo, a contribuição do cristianismo evangélico, reformatório e protestante para assuntos sempre atuais, tais como a relação entre fé e política e o ecumenismo cristão. Quanto à forma da exposição, busca-se atingir o objetivo antes ao modo de um ensaio do que de um artigo científico bem delimitado. Assim, privilegia-se a síntese subjetiva a partir de um diálogo pontual com textos selecionados do colega homenageado" ["Through the specific lenses of its author, the following paper attempts to gather the harvest of several themes and issues which throughout the decades have been, to a lesser or greater extent, the focus of interest by Dr. Zwinglio Mota Dias, now Professor Emeritus. Such themes are dealt with according to a perspective which tends to be more historical than systematic, and the starting point of this work is a relatively arbitrary choice of topics common to Protestantism in general more specifictopics concerning to the Reformed Tradition. On the whole the emphasis falls on contributions made by evangelic, Reformation and Protestant Christianity to issues which remain as current as ever, such as the relationship between faith, social ethics and politics, as well as Christian ecumenism. As far as the form of exposition is concerned, the goal is pursued in essay form rather than in a clearly demarcated research article. Thus the subjective synthesis is preferred as it grows out of a piecemeal dialogue with selected writings by the dear colleague to whom we today pay our homage"]
