"Una de mis metas era eliminar la presencia de usureros, que se enriquecen a costa de la explotación de los pobres. En 1983 funde el Grameen Bank para ofrecer pequeños préstamos que la gente - en especial las mujeres pobres- pudiera utilizar para salir de la pobreza. En aquel momento nunca me imaginé que los microcréditos algún día generarían su propia raza de usureros" ["One of my goals was to eliminate the presence of loan sharks who grow rich at the expense of the exploitation of the poor. In 1983 the Grameen Bank merges to provide small loans that people - especially poor women could use to escape poverty.
