Abstract
"A contemporaneidade ou pós-modernidade se mostra como um tempo de crises e carência de valores nos diversos setores da sociedade. Ao mesmo tempo, a ética, como ciência do agir humano, ressurge em nossos dias como tema privilegiado, na economia, na política, nas profissões, nas pesquisas e, especialmente, nas práticas educativas. As discussões sobre a possibilidade ou não de ensinar ética e a quem cabe esta função são o pano de fundo para as reflexões desse texto. Sem pretender esgotar o assunto, destaca-se a ética como campo de reflexão filosófica e como atividade da prática educativa que acompanha a história do homem ocidental desde a antiguidade. O que se percebe na atualidade é a emergência da ética como uma espécie de “ponte de salvação” do homem frente à crise de valores que caracteriza a sociedade contemporânea (pós-moderna)" ["The contemporary world, or post-modernity, is a time of crises and values lack in several sectors of the society. At the same time, ethics as a science of human acting revives in our days as a privileged subject, in economy, politics, the professions, research and, specially, in educative practices. The discussions on the possibility of teaching ethics and to whom this function pertains to are the backdrop for the reflections of this text. Without intending to exhaust the subject, there stands out ethics as a field of philosophical reflection and activity of the educative practice that accompanies the history of Western man from the Antiquity. What is realized in the present is the emergence of ethics as a sort of “bridge of salvation” for man before the crisis of values that characterizes contemporary society"]
