Abstract
"Angola, colonia portuguesa durante varios siglos, comienza su lucha armada por la autodeterminación política en 1961; esta lucha se prolonga hasta 1975, año en que se logra la independencia. A partir de esta fecha el país se sumerge en una guerra fratricida que disgrega a las familias y destruye las infraestructuras principalmente las ciudades, las carreteras y las empresas productoras. El país goza de un brevísimo momento de paz y de esperanza en 1992 durante el período de preparación de las elecciones. Estas fueron seguidas por el flagelo de la guerra que agravó mucho más la situación ya de por sí difícil de los angoleños" ["Angola, a Portuguese colony for several centuries, began its armed struggle for political self-determination in 1961; this fight lasts until 1975, independence was achieved.
