Abstract
"Max Weber nasceu em Erfurt (na Thuringe) em 1864 e faleceu de pneumonia em 1920, em Munique, à idade de 56 anos. Seu pai era um jurista de formação, tendo sido eleito deputado nacional-liberal junto à Dieta da Prússia e do Reichtag em 1869. Segundo alguns autores, o pai de Max Weber pertencia a um círculo de amizades formado por intelectuais (ele conhece W. Dilthey e T. Mommsen) e homens políticos, como será o caso, mais tarde, do próprio Max. Este recebe de sua mãe uma educação marcada pelo rigor calvinista (Galey e Lenclud, 2000). Outros autores nos dão mais detalhes dessa típica família protestante da burguesia alemã: enquanto o pai pertencia à burguesia afortunada, a mãe, mulher de grande cultura (sic), era de origem huguenote (Hervieu-Léger e Willaime, 2001). Se, do ponto de vista cultural, os pais de Weber estavam em sintonia, seu ambiente familiar contrastava, do ponto de vista religioso, entre a figura do pai – indiferente à religião – e a da mãe fortemente ligada a ela" ["Max Weber was born in Erfurt (in Thuringia) in 1864 and died of pneumonia in 1920 in Munich, at the age of 56 years. His father was a training lawyer and was elected national-liberal deputy by the Diet of Prussia and the Reichstag in 1869. According to some authors, the father of Max Weber belonged to a circle of friends formed by intellectuals (he knows W. Dilthey and T. Mommsen) and politicians, as will be the case later, Max. This itself receives from its mother an education marked by Calvinist rigor (Galey and Lenclud, 2000). Other authors give us more details of this typical Protestant family of the German bourgeoisie: while his father belonged to the fortunate bourgeoisie, mother, woman of great culture (sic), it was Huguenot origin (Hervieu-Léger and Willaime, 2001). If, from a cultural point of view, Weber's parents were in tune, his family contrasted environment, from the point religious view, between the father figure - indifferent to religion - and of the mother strongly attached to it"]
