Abstract
约半个世纪前,美国著名思想家、政治评论作家沃尔特·李普曼(Walter L ippman)在其著 作《公共哲学》( The Public Philosophy, 1956 )中谈到西方社会复兴公共哲学的必要,认为 这种公共哲学在古代曾经维系了城邦和帝国的生存和繁荣,在近代以来也曾被那些伟大的启蒙 者和自然法理论家认为是不可或缺,但大部分内容还是没有得到明确的阐述,而现代怀疑以至否 定的精神却已经在深深地腐蚀公共哲学的根基。在此之前,他还著有《公共舆论》( Public Opinion, 1922)一书,第一次比较全面地探讨了公共舆论或公众意见形成的内外机理,以及如何 诉诸公众理性等问题。
