Abstract
"Uma das maiores descobertas arqueológicas de todos os tempos foi o achado das ruínas da antiga cidade de Nínive. Naquele sitio arqueológico, foram desenterrados, entre outros, a biblioteca do palácio do rei Ashurbanipal. Nesse lugar foram achados muitos documentos escritos contendo relatos sobre as origens, na visão mesopotâmica. O conteúdo desses relatos é muito semelhante ao encontrado no livro bíblico do Gênesis. No presente artigo, são apresentados os relatos da criação do universo, o poema do Jardim do Éden, a queda do homem e o Dilúvio. Como conclusão se assevera que os relatos mesopotâmicos, como os semelhantes de outras culturas, tiveram uma origem única e comum" ["One of the most important archeological discoveries was the finding of the remains of the ancient city of Ninive. In that archeological site, were uncovered, among others things, the library of king Ashurbanipal´s palace. In that place, were found many documents with stories related to the origins, from a Mesopotamian point of view. The contents of these stories are very closely related to the Biblical Genesis. In this present article the Biblical and Mesopotamian stories of the creation of the universe, the poem of the garden of Eden, the fall of man, and the Flood are presented. The conclusion of this work is that the mesopotamian accounts, related to the biblical Genesis, have an unique and the same time common origin with the biblical material"]
