Abstract
"Paciente viúva, do sexo feminino, 70 anos de idade, portadora de Alzheimer há dois anos, apresenta-se com quadro de obstrução intestinal aguda por neo de colo descendente, com metástases hepáticas. O estado geral é regular. O médico indica a cirurgia para alívio da obstrução. A paciente não tem condições de autonomia para decidir. Ela tem apenas duas filhas: uma delas deseja que a mãe seja operada e a outra se opõe. O que você faria?" ["Patient widow, female, 70 years old, holder of Alzheimer two years ago, is presented with frame acute intestinal obstruction by neo descending colon with liver metastases. The general condition is regular. The doctor indicates surgery to remove the obstruction. The patient is unable to autonomy to decide.
