Abstract
"O texto estabelece um diálogo entre o pensamento de Rubem Alves e o pensamento de Jürgen Habermas sobre a função da linguagem, a partir de duas obras específicas: o suspiro dos oprimidos e a Teoria da ação comunicativa. Para Rubem Alves, a linguagem é pragmática. No entanto, mesmo que as palavras tenham a função primordial de representar as coisas e as suas relações, a linguagem em si não é uma cópia do real, mas antes a organização do mesmo de acordo com as necessidades humanas. Para Jürgen Habermas, não existe significação fora da ação humana e é a linguagem que coordena as ações de sujeitos diferentes em uma mesma sociedade. A partir disso, o texto aponta que a teologia só será capaz de redescobrir seu lugar no mundo se ela souber lidar com a dialética entre linguagem e realidade" ["The text establishes a dialogue between the thought of Rubem Alves and the thought of Jürgen Habermas on the role of language, from two specific works: the sigh of the oppressed and the Theory of Communicative Action. To Rubem Alves, language is pragmatic. However, even if the words have the primary function of representing things and their relations, the language itself is not a copy of reality, but rather the organization of it according to human needs. Jürgen Habermas, there is no meaning outside of human action and is the language that coordinates the different subjects of shares in the same company. From this, the text points out that theology will only be able to rediscover their place in the world if it not deal with the dialectic between language and reality"]
