Abstract
"Em recorte histórico tem-se nítida impressão de que sempre houve preocupação da sociedade com a dignidade humana. No entanto, paradoxalmente, chegase ao século XXI, assistindo a não raras ocasiões em que o ser humano é agredido em sua dignidade. Se, de um lado, acumulam-se os episódios de agressão à dignidade, de outro, crescem o sentimento e os esforços em sua defesa. Vivenciamos uma época, pode-se dizer, de resgate da dignidade humana, em que terá papel essencial a Bioética, cujo advento tem sido fator decisivo na tomada de consciência quanto ao lugar da dignidade humana na sociedade. O ser humano busca encontrar algo que o torne merecedor, pela gratuidade e mistério da existência na qual está inserido, do próprio valor que, desde sua origem, já traz em si próprio. O termo dignidade humana resulta em um conceito que reúne tanto algo que faz parte da essência do ser humano como algo que precisou de séculos de vida e de história para ser conquistado. Este trabalho tem por objetivo evidenciar como o conceito de dignidade humana se insere na Bioética a partir da análise de alguns registros sobre o conceito de dignidade humana na área da Filosofia. Neste estudo, os procedimentos metodológicos envolvem análise documental e revisão bibliográfica, a fim de elucidar o conhecimento sobre o conceito de dignidade humana a partir de diferentes enfoques. Com base na análise desses dados, observou-se que se fala muito de dignidade, porém, mais pela sonoridade da palavra do que por seu conteúdo, o qual continua envolto pela névoa do subjetivismo, perdendo seu significado tanto nos léxicos como na vida prática. A dignidade, vista pelo prisma filosófico, tem implicações em todos os problemas da Bioética. Porém, isoladamente, a conceituação da dignidade não é suficiente para sua devida compreensão, pois necessita de conciliação com a realidade e vivenciá-la no campo da Bioética. O ser humano é infinito em suas possibilidades, pois apreender valores é uma tarefa inesgotável, pela qual sua individualidade se torna única como pessoa, que, como postula Kant, não tem preço, tem dignidade" ["From a historical perspective we have a strong feeling that there has always been a social concern with human dignity. However, paradoxically, we reach the XXI century and see many situations in which human beings have their dignity attacked. If, in the one hand, there are increase aggressions to dignity, in the other hand feelings and efforts in its defense also have been increasing. We may say that we live at a time of redemption of human dignity, a time in which an essential role is given to Bioethics, whose advent has been a decisive factor for humans to understand the place of human dignity in society. Humans searches something that make them deserving, by means of the gratuity and mystery of existence in which they are, of their own value, which, from its inception, they already brings in themselves. The term human dignity results in a concept that brings together not only something that is part of human essence but also something that took centuries of life and history to be conquered. This work aims to show how the concept of human dignity integrates into Bioethics from the analysis of some registers on the concept of human dignity in Philosophy. In this study, the methodological procedures are a documentary analysis and a bibliographical survey, in order to elucidate the knowledge on the concept of human dignity from different approaches. On the basis of data analysis, we see that dignity is a very used expression, but it seems that more for its sonority than because of its content, which is still surrounded by a fog of subjectivism, losing meaning both in the lexicons and in practical life. Dignity seen by the philosophical prism has implications for all bioethical problems. However, isolated, the concept of dignity is not sufficient for adequately understanding it, and so it needs to be reconciled with reality and be lived in the field of Bioethics. Humans are infinite in their possibilities, for apprehending values is an inexhaustible task by which human individuality makes each person a unique person, and as Kant postulates a person has no price, but do has dignity"]
