Abstract
"La Ley General de Sanidad, en su artículo 10 establece la obligación para los sanitarios de informar y obtener el consentimiento para determinadas actuaciones, diagnósticas y terapéuticas. Se reconoce como un derecho de los enfermos y un deber de los sanitarios. La comunicación es un proceso sobre el que se fundamenta, en gran parte, la medicina paliativa. Proporcionar una adecuada información, hace imprescindible que el profesional tenga, en su relación con el enfermo, un claro talante de honestidad y rectitud, que no es compatible con el engaño y que no se justifica por la gravedad de la situación del enfermo (‘mentira piadosa’). Es por tanto esencial comprender que cualquier decisión del equipo debe tener como fin el mejor interés del enfermo". ["The General Health Law, Article 10 establishes the obligation to inform health and obtain consent for certain actions, diagnostic and therapeutic. It is recognized as a right of patients and a duty of health. Communication is a process on which it is based, largely palliative medicine.
