"연구의 가치와 연구를 통해 얻어진 성과는 전적으로 연구의 진실성에 달려있다. 비록 연구를 수행하고 지원하는 방식은 다를지라도 국가나 연구 분야를 막론하고 연구 과정에서의 진실성 확보에 필요한기본적인 원칙과 연구자의 책임은 다음과 같다." ["The value and benefits of research are vitally dependent on the integrity of research. While there can be and are national and disciplinary differences in the way research is organized and conducted, there are also principles and professional responsibilities that are fundamental to the integrity of research wherever it is undertaken."]
