Abstract
This writing explores the negative impact of information technology and communication which will destroy the future of young generation if this is not acted and used wisely. In information society, the existence of Y generation as the future responsible leader is determined or influenced by the consumed information quality as their brain resources and spiritual. Mass media as one of the producers of information in public sphere has a major role in determining the quality of public sphere. This condition is determined by the competence and idealism of journalist and media owners. Currently, Indonesia is implementing the privatization of media that controlled by a few large investors. These conditions resulted in the media are used as a tool of economic and media industry ignores the educational function. This condition makes youth as consumer. Preventing and controlling this problem must be done by all stakeholders to save the young generation of future leaders.
