Abstract
"Esto artículo discorre sobre la Declaración de Santo Domingo sobre Bioética y Derechos Humanos, adoptada en el Seminario Internacional de Bioética - Hacia una Convención Sub-Regional de Bioética - celebrado en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, entre el 28 y el 30 de marzo de 2007. Esta Declaración tiene que ser valorada, interpretada, comprendida y aplicada en relación con la Declaración Universal sobre Bioética y Derechos Humanos, homologada por aclamación, en la Conferencia General de la UNESCO, el 19 de octubre del año 2005. Apuntando las principales recomendaciones en las cuales hay convergencia, el texto subraya la importancia de que, a la luz de los derechos humanos, la bioética sea comprendida en su amplia perspectiva social" ["This article discusses the Santo Domingo Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights adopted at the International Seminary on Bioethics – up to a sub Regional Convention of Bioethics, which was held in Santo Domingo, from 28 to 30 March, 2007. This Declaration should be valued, interpreted, understood, and applied in relation to the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, approved by UNESCO General Conference, by acclamation, during the General Conference of the Organization, on October, 5th, 2005. The article points out the main recommendations in which convergence is attained, highlighting the importance of understanding bioethics in its social perspective in the light of human rights"]
