"La historiografía eclesiástica oficial , tanto protestante com o católica, surg e d e la "teología d e controversia" y tien e un propósito apologético. El historiador d e tendenci a reformad a (por ejempl o Enriqu e Bullinger) presentará los orígenes del movimiento radical desd e Tomás Müntzer, es deci r desd e una fuente en el terren o luterano, y debido a influencias e ideas católicas. El anabautismo no tenía, según Bullinger, ningún vínculo original con el movimiento zuingliano."
