Abstract
"A busca que o ser humano faz do divino é tema central das mais diversas religiões. Os religiosos procuram encontrar Deus de várias formas. Algumas pessoas praticam a religião de maneira ortodoxa, outras buscam na simplicidade das ações cotidianas a forma de reverenciar e encontrar o Criador. Há ainda os que usam da linguagem escrita, prosa ou verso, de forma alegórica para compreender o sagrado. O livro, traduzido como “A Linguagem dos Pássaros” ou “A Conferência dos Pássaros”, encontra-se nesse grupo. Esta obra, escrita no século XII pelo místico muçulmano persa Faridud-Din Attar é prova da sensibilidade, da perseverança, da delicadeza e das dificuldades que o ser humano enfrenta para obter sua aproximação com Deus, que às vezes lhe parece tão perto e outras vezes tão distante" ["The search for God is a central theme of most religions. Religious devotes try to find God in many ways. Some by practicing religion in an orthodox way; other by pursuing the simplicity of daily actions as a form of to reverence God face-to-face. Other, still, by resorting to allegoric language, in prose or verse, to realize the sacred. The Attar’s “Conference of Birds” belongs to the latter group. This book, written in 12th century´s Persia, is the testimony of the complexities, perseverance, delicacy and the difficulties that men have to go through to get near God"]
