Abstract
"En éste libro, Niall Ferguson, profesor en los claustros de la Universidad de Harvard y de la Hoover Institution de la Universidad de Stanford, continúa con la temática de sus trabajos precedentes (especialmente Civilización, Occidente y el resto) haciendo especial referencia a lo que él denomina una profunda crisis institucional a nivel político, económico y cultural. En este sentido, La Gran Degeneración hace alusión a un declive y estancamiento de la sociedad occidental a un cuarto de siglo del ya célebre ‘fin de la Historia’ de Francis Fukuyama" ["In this book, Niall Ferguson, a professor in the cloisters of Harvard University and the Hoover Institution of Stanford University, continues the themes of his previous works (especially civilization, the West and the rest) with special reference to what he calls a deep institutional crisis at the political, economic and cultural level. In this sense, La Gran degeneration refers to a decline and stagnation of Western society to a quarter of a century the now famous' End of History "by Francis Fukuyama"]
