Abstract
"Entende-se por intervenção no desempenho de um atleta em competição, quando há riscos graves à sua saúde. A intervenção do médico e/ou do árbitro, nestes casos, ou de morte, é tratada à luz da liberdade e autonomia do atleta, bem como dos códigos de ética médica e dos profissionais de educação física. Há uma contradição entre a não intervenção do médico, nestes casos - prevista no código de ética médica como imperícia - e a intervenção do árbitro, prevista como transgressão de regras, pois se espera isenção durante a competição. São relatados e comentados dois casos imaginários possíveis, segundo os princípios da bioética. A intervenção deve ocorrer quando necessária e depende de cada caso em particular. Os princípios bioéticos em que se baseia a intervenção devem ser incorporados pelos atletas, médicos e árbitros envolvidos. É louvável o atleta buscar a superação de seus limites e, consequentemente, a vitória; porém, a intervenção consciente, livre e autônoma, se faz necessária como sinalizadora em respeito a sua vida" ["Intervention in an athlete’s acting in competition is considered when there are serious risks to its health. The intervention of the referee and/or of the medical doctor, in cases of high risks of serious lesion or death, it is treated to the point of view of the athlete’s freedom and the athlete’s autonomy, as well as of the medical ethics code and of the physical education code. There is a contradiction among the medical doctor’s non intervention (foreseen in the medical ethics code as negligence) and the referee’s intervention (foreseen as transgression of rules, because, from the referee is waited, exemption during the competition). Two possible imaginary cases are told and commented according to the Bioethics are commented. The intervention should happen when necessary and it depends in particular on each case. The bioethical principles when the intervention is based they should be become aware by athletes, medical doctors and involved referees. It is praiseworthy the athlete it to look for its limits superaction and, consequently, the victory. Even so, the conscious, free and autonomous intervention makes them necessary as a signal in respect its life."]
