Abstract
Waste water of the gold mining activities in Seminis rivers, Sebawi District in Sambas Regency which flowed directly to the Sambas River has the high risk to contaminate the water. This research was conducted to: (1) study of types pollution of the gold mining activities; (2) determine the contamination level of the water due to the disposal of sewage gold mining activities; (3) then create the environmental management strategies to anticipate the water contamination due to the gold mining activities. The research was used the survey method which emphasize to the observation and measurement of object or reasearch variable. The result of observation and measurement was used to analyze the water contamination from the degradation of water river quality, biotic componen condition and the influence of cultural component arround the Seminis River to the water contamination due to the gold mining processing. From the abiotic aspects, based on the results of testing the quality of waste water and river water, it is known that there is no damage to the aquatic environment due to processing. From the aspect of biotic can be concluded that the condition of the vegetation around Seminis river changed significant. While, from the aspect of cultural concluded that pollution conditions Seminis river can not be separated from the social aspects of society such as knowledge, perceptions and attitudes towards waste and improving monitoring water quality of Seminis river.
