Abstract
"Este artigo descreve situações de vulnerabilidade de crianças em tratamento, apontando as circunstâncias que levam ao aumento dessa vulnerabilidade. Discute o despreparo ético das instituições, dos profissionais de saúde e até mesmo dos pais para lidar com as crianças nessa situação, seja no que diz respeito ao direito à informação ou mesmo à decisão terapêutica. Enfatiza que por força da sua imaturidade biológica, reflexiva, ética, social e afetiva, a criança é um ser profundamente dependente, frágil, suscetível de ser alvo de desrespeito aos direitos inerentes à sua real condição de ser humano" ["This paper describes some vulnerability situations suffered by children under treatment, setting out the circumstances that leads to vulnerability increase. Discusses the ethical unprepare of institutions, of health professionals and even of parents to deal with children under this condition, concerning the right for information or even to the right related to therapeutic decision. This study also emphasizes that, because of their biological, reflexive, ethical, social and affective immaturity, children are deeply dependent and weak, prone to become victims of disrespect to the rights associated to their real condition of human being"]
