Abstract
"Cuando el diagnóstico médico de un paciente excluye la esperanza de reponer o mantener su salud y su muerte es inevitable, con frecuencia el médico y el paciente se ven enfrentados a un conjunto de decisiones complejas relativas a las intervenciones médicas. Los avances de la ciencia médica han aumentado la capacidad del médico de abordar muchos problemas asociados con la atención médica del término de la vida. Sin embargo, es un área de la medicina que históricamente no ha recibido la atención que merece. Aunque no se debe comprometer la prioridad de investigación para curar enfermedades, se debe prestar más atención a desarrollar tratamientos paliativos y mejorar la capacidad del médico para evaluar y abordar los aspectos médicos y psicológicos de los síntomas de una enfermedad terminal". ["When the medical diagnosis of a patient excludes hoping to replenish or maintain their health and death is inevitable , often the physician and patient are faced with a complex set of decisions on medical interventions. Advances in medical science have increased the ability of physicians to address many problems associated with the care of the end of life . However, it is an area of medicine that historically has not received the attention it deserves . Although it should not compromise the priority research to cure disease , you should pay more attention to develop and improve palliative care physician's ability to assess and address the medical and psychological aspects of the symptoms of a terminal illness".]
