Abstract
"Effctie management of resources is a current concern of health instiutins in Portugal, requiring ratinal izatin and prioritiatin according to ethical principles to ensure fairness. Access to innovatin has proved fundamental in promotig health care and consequently improving quality of life, albeit with associated costs. Given the rapid development of science and the growing prevalence of innovatin in the form of technol ogy and treatments, a clear, conscious and reasoned discussion about the adoptin and establishment of prioritis with regard to innovatin in health is imperatie. Centered on a defiitin of innovatin in health, the study of prioritis, the perceptin of the same and their politial aspects, the present artile proposes a critial reflctin in the light of ethical aspects that evidence the main questins related to the introductin of innovatin in health in Portugal."
