Abstract
"É com imensa satisfação que a Sociedade Brasileira de Bioética apresenta a seus associados e demais leitores interessados, o Número 1 da Revista Brasileira de Bioética – RBB. Depois de 10 anos de existência, nossa entidade apresenta ao Brasil sua revista científica, que contribuirá decisivamente para o amadurecimento da especialidade no país. Como é do conhecimento de todos, nesse período a SBB promoveu cinco congressos nacionais, realizou e financiou integralmente o maior congresso mundial de bioética em 2002, adquiriu uma adequada sede própria em Brasília, e pode orgulhosamente divulgar que todas suas obrigações fiscais e financeiras estão organizadas e em dia. Consolidando essas realizações, o lançamento da RBB representa mais um passo em direção à sua maioridade como entidade associativa e científica" ["It is with great satisfaction that the Brazilian Bioethics Society presents its members and other interested readers, the number 1 of the Journal of Bioethics - RBB. After 10 years of existence, our organization has Brazil its journal, which decisively contribute to the maturation of the specialty in the country.
