Abstract
Elections include manifold ethical aspects. This article concentrates on ethical aspects of financing electoral campaigns. In ten theses conditions are analysed, values mentioned as benchmarks and practical proposals made in legal and voluntary measures. The text is the summary of a lecture held in 2002 in Yaoundé/ Cameroun. In the meantime, the author gave a series of trainings for mediators and election officials in DR Congo. The training material can be downloaded on the website of globethics.net205 and a special collection on‚ ‘Elections and Ethics’ offers many online documents.
