Abstract
This article attempts to explain the meaning of jihad and martyrdom. Jihad is not a military expansion, or the imperial system under the guise of Islam, which has been politicized in order with the words of the scholars, as claimed the Orientalists. But jihad is a concept of an alternative mission to defend the religion of Allah in exchange for a martyr for the fighters, who are the ideals and expectations of Muslims.
