Abstract
Resumen. En un mundo competitivo, es impostergable un cambio en la actitud en el uso de la información por parte de quien toma las decisiones. Durante muchos años debido a las fronteras cerradas y a un proteccionismo cerrado los precios eran altos, los productos de baja calidad y no había competencia. Actualmente, todos los países están obligados a acelerar el cambio tecnológico para lograr un crecimiento sostenido, ya que el nuevo entorno ofrece muchos retos y oportunidades, y el éxito económico se lograra solo en la medida en que se incremente la competitividad. Para competir es importante contar con excelente sistemas de información que sean oportunos, relevantes y confiables, y más aún poder entender y analizar esta información, condiciones vitales para tomar decisiones operativas y estratégicas. Es por eso que este trabajo lo enfocaremos a saber el uso, elaboración y conocimiento de la información financiera en las Pequeñas y medianas empresas, su uso y análisis de los mismos para la toma de decisiones. In a competitive World, it is not possible to postpone a change in the attitude in the use of information by decision makers. During years due to closed borders and to a protectionism the prices were high, products with low quality y there was no competition. At the present time, all of the countries are obliged to accelerate the technological change to achieve a sustained growth, because the new environment offers many challenges and opportunities, and the economical success will be accomplished as the competitivity increases. To compit it is important to count on excellent information systems that be opportune, relevant and trustful, and better yet, to be able to understand and analyze this information, vital conditions to make operational and strategic decisions. This work is focused to know the use, elaboration and knowledge of financial information in small and medium enterprises, its use and analysis for decision making. Key words.
