Abstract
"Creo que, tenida en cuenta la índole del tema, debemos recurrir, para establecer el significado de la antiquísima expresión "consejos evangélicos", a la misma enseñanza de Jesús. Si se acepta que del Evangelio surge una normatividad específicamente cristiana (verdad inexplicablemente puesta en duda por algunos teólogos protestantes y católicos actuales), al mismo tiempo se ha de reconocer en esa normatividad un doble nivel. Jesús impone a veces verdaderos preceptos, comenzando por el primero y principal, o sea, el de la caridad, y continuando con los del decálogo, reformulados y ampliados por El que, para proceder de ese modo, apela a su propia autoridad ciertamente superior a la de Moisésl . La común y secular interpretación de la Tradición denomina "preceptos" esas normas, no sólo para conservar una nomenclatura veterotestamentaria sino porque su observancia condiciona el ingreso a la vida eterna".
