Abstract
The thesis explores the contemporary Islamic thought in Indonesia, especially posed by two prominents schollars ; Nurcholis Madjid and Abdurrahman Wahid. The main idea of the paper is the approach of understanding Holy Qur'an and how Islam deal with the state and its own ideology ; Pancasila by using historical comparative and critical approach.
