Abstract
The right to education is a civil right, which means that the government is the primary responsible actor in guaranteeing an education to every citizen. But in times of European debt crisis it is even more relevant to analyse if also companies should be (partially) responsible for education. First, some philosophical and theoretical aspects regarding social, political and economic concepts (such as Corporate Social Responsibility) will be pointed out. Then, this article will analyse Switzerland’s dual track education system and its vocational training as a concrete example of economy’s involvement. Finally, the advantages and challenges of the Swiss economy’s engagement in education will be elaborated.
