Abstract
"No recente debate acadêmico, a definição comum do termo bíblico ger como um “residente estrangeiro” em Israel tem sido fortemente questionada. Alguns dos argumentos usados nesse debate pertencem ao campo lingüístico-semântico do termo. Em especial, certo enfoque tem sido dado à questões etimológicas do termo à sua ligação à raiz hebraica gwr I. O presente artigo analisa esses argumentos à luz dos dados do texto bíblico, da língua hebraica bíblica e suas cognatas" ["In the recent academic debate, the common definition of the biblical term ger as a "resident alien" in Israel has been strongly questioned. Some of the arguments used in this debate belongs to the linguistic-semantic field of the term.
