Abstract
"A pesar que el avance científico puede dar respuestas a interrogantes acerca de la sexualidad, en la actualidad siguen existiendo mitos relacionados con la misma, lo cual con frecuencia se debe a los tabúes sociales que no permiten que muchas personas obtengan la información adecuada para llevar a cabo una sexualidad sana. En este artículo se presentan los resultados de un estudio realizado con 213 estudiantes de nivel universitario y de educación media (bachillerato) acerca de la existencia de mitos sexuales, definiendo la relación de éstos con el género y el nivel educativo. Se observaron porcentajes elevados de mitos en su mayoría significativamente asociados con las variables descritas. Sobresalen niveles elevados de mitos entre los hombres así como un número significativo en universitarios de ambos géneros" ["Even though the scientific progress can answer questions related to sexuality, nowadays there are still myths about it, which frequently exist due to social taboos that do not allow many people to obtain proper information in order to carry out a healthy sexuality. This article shows results from a study about sexual myths conducted in educational institutions (college, secondary school) with 213 students, defining the relationship between those myths and the students’ gender and educational level.
