Abstract
Territory shape of Gorontalo in the past encouraged the Gorontalo people to live moving place to place. However, Gorontalo wanderers bring out special characteristics, that are to choose to stay in Gorontalo community neighborhood while most of them does not stay forever in overseas territory but decide to come homeland. It indicates that Gorontalo wanderers have the love to homeland. This paper examines how cultural discourse of Gorontalo exposed the love to homeland as genuine value, how context shaped the cultural discourse and how it shaped the context. The discourse of this analysis is a Gorontalo local song which was popular in 2010, Lipu’u. It was investigated by using two method, Johnstone’s heuristic analysis and Renkema’s contextual phenomena. The result of heuristic analysis is discourse creator’s context shaped cultural discourse which contain the love to homeland while contextual phenomena analysis indicated that genuine value was placed as important information in the discourse.
