Abstract
Es evidente que hubo mujeres cristianas con fuerza de testimonio y carácter e igualmente evidente que distinguidos cristianos como Jerónimo se esforzaron por silenciarlas" "In the first centuries of Christianity there exist very few texts griten by women o even texts that have women as their main characters. This article tries to clarify this gap searching out the few visible women of the period, Thecla, Priscilla and Maximila, Perpetua, Mary Magdalene of the Gospel of Mary, and Egeria. It is evident that there existed women of strong character and testimony, and equally evident that distinguished Christians like Jerome made every effort to silence them"
