Abstract
"The purpose of this code is to guide the professional practice of librarians and documentalists as they go about their work. It is, moreover, the instrument adopted by the COBDC, in accordance with the association’s statutes, to foster an ethical approach to the profession by its members. All COBDC members will take their guidance from this ethical code, without prejudice to the principles established by the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, declarations approved by IFLA or other competent bodies, and the legal framework governing Catalonia, Spain and the European Union. The COBDC will support any member that should suffer professional or personal damages of any kind as a result of complying with the stipulations of this ethical code."
