Abstract
"Cuando se habla de gestionar la diversidad cultural o de políticas de acomodo y reconocimiento de la diferencia, muchas veces se piensa en modelos comunitaristas donde se pretende afianzar, de manera cerrada y exclusiva, bienes culturales densos o en la dificultad que conlleva aplicar sin matices algunos de los principios del liberalismo en determinados contextos, como son la universalidad o la laicidad rígida. En este trabajo se exploran otras formas de acercarse a este reto de convivir armónicamente en la diversidad cultural, en concreto las de, por una parte, un republicanismo pluralista e inclusivo y, por la otra, el modelo quebequés de integración y gestión de la diversidad cultural conocido como interculturalismo. Asimismo, se indaga sobre las posibilidades de entablar vías convergentes entre ambas" ["When we speak of managing cultural diversity or accommodation policy and the recognition of the difference two problems generally come to mind. First, the notion of communitarism models, which aim to strengthen cultural property using strategies that create closure and exclusion; second, the difficulty that stems from applying, without nuances, some of the principles of liberalism, such as universalism or rigid secularism, to all contexts. This paper explores other ways of approaching the challenge of living together harmoniously in cultural diversity, focusing, on one hand, on a pluralistic and inclusive form of republicanism and, on the other hand, on the Quebecois model of integration and cultural diversity management known as interculturalism.
