Abstract
"Mirando a Europa lo que más ha llamado la atención es tanto la gran abstención creciente, como el ascenso de la extrema derecha (xenófoba y antieuropea). Quisiera sugerir que ambos datos pueden tener una misma causa: es la izquierda la que, en buena parte, se ha abstenido y, probablemente, ha querido también dar un voto de castigo contribuyendo a encumbrar a la extrema derecha" ["Looking to Europe what has attracted most attention is both large and growing abstention, as the rise of the extreme right (xenophobic and anti-European).
