Abstract
How should doctors examine and engage religion in the lives of their patients and in their own lives as clinicians? Is there any place for God at the bedside during rounds? Discussions of spirituality and religion have long been considered inappropriate in the study and practice of medicine. That bias is beginning to change, however, as physicians begin to appreciate the importance of these issues to the health and well-being of their patients, as well as the role of spirituality in their own lives.
