Abstract
"Partindo, principalmente, das reflexões de Stuart Hall e Edward Said sobre a divisão política do mundo entre orientais e ocidentais, juntamente com as noções de hibridação de Nestór Canclini, utilizarei a produção quadrinística da artista iraniana Marjane Satrapi – Persépolis e Bordados – que discute a sociedade iraniana e as mulheres iranianas sob um ponto de vista bastante peculiar, em conjunto com o livro da jornalista australiana Geraldine Brooks, intitulado “Nove partes do desejo: o mundo secreto das mulheres islâmicas” para discutir as reflexões que essas duas autoras fazem sobre as percepções deturpadas e hegemonistas que o discurso ocidental possui sobre as mulheres do Islã. O corpo deste artigo compõe uma retrospectiva histórico-cultural sobre o islamismo, e posterior debate acerca das mulheres, em uma perspectiva mais ampla e menos eurocêntrica, com foco nas interações sociais e nas particularidades culturais intrínsecas a essa sociedade, com o interesse de levantar outras histórias acerca da situação da mulher islâmica que a comumente contada pelo ponto de vista do mundo ocidental" ["Based, mainly, in Stuart Hall and Edward Said theories about world political division between East and West, along with the notions of hybridization of Nestor Canclini, I will use the comic books called Persépolis and Embroideries of iraian artist Marjane Satrapi - - which discusses the Iranian society and Iranian women in a especific point of view, and the book of Australian journalist Geraldine Brooks, titled: “Nine parts of desire: the hidden world of Islamic women” to discuss ideas of these two authors about misleading perceptions and a hegemonic Western discourse about the women of Islam. The body of the article comprises a cultural historical retrospective on the Islam, and subsequent a less Eurocentric discussion about the women, with focus on social interactions and the cultural particularities intrinsic to that society.
